I am a passionate and detail-oriented individual dedicated to using education and research to make a meaningful impact. Currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Educational Research-Adult Learning at the University of Calgary, I’m focused on exploring how education can be a tool for transformation, particularly in marginalized communities.

Research Experience:
In my role as a Research Assistant at the Cumming School of Medicine, I am part of a team conducting a scoping review on the educational experiences of Black children and youth in Canada. I am particularly focused on the education aspect of the project, where I screened, extracted data, handled biased assessment, resolved conflict, collaborated with team members and write report using Covidence. The research aims to understand how education can help transform the lives of Black youth, highlighting its challenges and providing recommendations.

Educational Background:

–  Master of Arts in Educational Research-Adult Learning, University of Calgary (2023– ongoing)

–  Master of Education in Community Development, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Nigeria (2015 – 2018)

–  Bachelor of Education Education/Economics, University of Jos, Nigeria (2007 – 2012)

Skills & Expertise:
I’m skilled in using tools like SPSS, and Covidence for data analysis and have a strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. My experience in academic writing and communication helps me clearly present research findings and collaborate effectively with my team. I am also committed to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all data I work with, knowing how crucial these elements are in research.

Volunteer and Community Engagement:
I believe in the power of community, and my volunteer work reflects that. I’m actively involved with organizations like Making Changes Association and the Salvation Army, where I help newcomers adjust to life in Canada by providing life skills training and career support. These experiences have taught me a lot about the resilience of people from diverse backgrounds and have deepened my desire to make positive change through education and community engagement.
